Form FAQs
What is Form?
Form is a Layer 2 blockchain designed specifically for SocialFi. Form is built using several frameworks such as the OP stack and Celestia for Data Availability (DA).
Why do we need yet another L2?
We believe in thesis driven L2s on Ethereum, and Form is focused on the thesis of interoperable SocialFi for the Ethereum ecosystem. By focusing on SocialFi, Form is able to provide developers with the full lifecycle of social tokens and community management in their DApps. The Form team also helps with external partnerships and introductions necessary for a community or DApp to be successful in SocialFi.
We also strongly believe in permissionless interoperability among SocialFi apps and with the broader Ethereum ecosystem.
What problem does Form solve?
The SocialFi architecture has shifted away from the open and interoperable structure of social tokens into something that is tied specifically to each app. This is against our long-term vision for social tokens for communities at scale. Form aims to bring SocialFi architecture back in line with our open and interoperable thesis, where these tokens work on all DApps in SocialFi and outside of it, including on DeFi applications and onchain social apps.
We will have more specifics soon on how Form helps achieve this with interoperable bonding curve tokens in the near future.
